• Process patient insurance information through the patient intake process • Collect payments on outstanding patient balances • Resolve credits for payer overpayments and issue refunds • Perform revenue operations duties related to medical insurance collections, credits, or setting patient insurance coverage • Communicate with insurance payers to ensure proper patient insurance coverage and timely, accurate reimbursement for dialysis services • Respond to payer communications in a timely and accurate manner • Collaborate with revenue operations teams to ensure seamless processes • Partner with insurance counselors, social workers, and facility administrators to maintain timely and accurate insurance information • Identify process changes and continuous improvement opportunities • Maintain current patient account information • Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA and DaVita policies • Work overtime as needed • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed • Follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures • Own and work through a book of business and assigned queue with leadership support
• High school diploma or equivalent • Basic computer skills • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to adapt quickly and demonstrate resiliency • Drive and initiative to manage an assigned queue and book of business • Ability to understand and embrace DaVita culture • Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies • Knowledge of revenue cycle, insurance rules, and regulations for federal, state, and/or managed care payers will be provided through training • Knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement practices will be provided through training • Familiarity with basic medical reimbursement terminology will be provided through training • Basic knowledge of healthcare reimbursement accounting principles will be provided through training
