📋 Description

• Performs telephone triage under demanding, stressful, and repetitious conditions • Collects patient/caller data and makes assessments • Develops working diagnoses and determines interventions and disposition per guidelines • Guides patients/callers in evaluating symptoms, treatment effectiveness, and when to call back • Documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessments, advice, and patient/caller responses • Performs initial assessments for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patients • Evaluates age-appropriate care advice and differentiates normal from abnormal findings • Acts appropriately in critical situations • Educates patients/callers and assesses learning needs • Assesses signs of abuse and makes appropriate referrals • Reviews medications, drug dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization status • Serves as team leader when assigned to monitor call queue safety • Acts as liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary issues and as a resource for staff • Provides feedback to supervisors • Selects appropriate guidelines and dispositions based on assessment data • Performs QI, documentation, and audio audits • Adjusts dispositions according to patient/caller needs using nursing judgment • Integrates quality improvement and audit findings into practice • Identifies process and operational improvement opportunities and collects supporting data • Identifies self-learning needs and incorporates new knowledge into practice

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's Degree Required • Two years of recent nursing experience Required • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required • Provides age appropriate triage and treatment dispositions to all callers from newborn to Adult, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting required • Utilizes computer software and associated programs to triage and send reports to appropriate agencies or clinics required • Uses nursing judgment as an adjunct to the computer Software Program to reach appropriate dispositions and care advice required • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations required • Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques required • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment required • Ability to use computers and computer systems required • Computer skills required • Bilingual skills preferred • Computer skills preferred
