📋 Description

• Performs telephone triage under demanding, stressful, and repetitious conditions • Collects data, makes assessments, develops working diagnoses, determines interventions, and determines disposition according to guidelines • Instructs patients/callers on evaluating normal and abnormal symptoms, treatment effectiveness, and when to call back • Documents symptoms, complaints, nursing assessments, advice, and patient/caller responses • Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to improve healthcare outcomes and access to appropriate care • Performs initial assessments for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patients • Differentiates normal from abnormal findings and identifies potential problems • Educates patients/callers and assesses learning needs • Assesses signs of abuse and makes appropriate referrals • Reviews medications, drug dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization status • Acts as team leader when assigned to monitor call queue safety and liaise on staffing or interdisciplinary issues • Serves as a resource for other staff and provides feedback to supervisors • Selects appropriate guidelines and advises disposition based on assessment data and nursing judgment • Performs quality improvement, documentation, and audio audits • Integrates audit findings and quality improvement activities into practice • Identifies process and operational improvements and collects supporting data • Recognizes self-learning needs and incorporates new knowledge into practice

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's Degree Required • Two years of recent nursing experience Required • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required • Provides age appropriate triage and treatment dispositions to all callers from newborn to Adult, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting required • Utilizes computer software and associated programs to triage and send reports to appropriate agencies or clinics required • Uses nursing judgment as an adjunct to the computer Software Program to reach appropriate dispositions and care advice required • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations required • Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques required • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment required • Ability to use computers and computer systems required • Computer skills required • Bilingual skills preferred
