📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted partner and primary point of contact for Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Operations • Assess legal risks in product development, including privacy, regulatory, licensing, and intellectual property concerns • Identify, assess, and resolve legal issues related to customer data, privacy, security, export control, open-source software, and responsible AI • Help shape the strategy, structure, and priorities of the product counsel function • Advise on U.S. and global privacy laws, including CCPA and GDPR, and emerging AI regulations • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and data protection agreements, including vendor agreements, technology partnership agreements, terms of service, product-specific terms, privacy policies, and acceptable use policies • Support legal strategy for critical incident response and regulatory investigations • Develop scalable self-service legal playbooks, templates, and automated workflows for Engineering and Product teams

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state • 8+ years of legal experience • Significant in-house experience supporting SaaS, PaaS, and/or IaaS product development teams • Track record of counseling AI product and engineering teams across the product development lifecycle • Strong business judgment for calibrating business and legal risk • Ability to translate complex legal advice into actionable guidance • Strong understanding of U.S. and global privacy regulations, intellectual property, open-source software, artificial intelligence, and data security • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements • Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills • Ability to build positive, influential relationships with cross-functional partners and senior leadership
