📋 Description

• Review and verify prescriptions for legality, accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness • Confirm patient, medication, strength, dosage form, quantity, directions, and labeling • Evaluate prescriptions for clinical concerns, interactions, contraindications, duplications, inconsistencies, and patient-safety issues • Perform final pharmacist verification before product release • Identify, resolve, document, and escalate medication errors, discrepancies, and safety concerns • Practice in accordance with federal and Texas laws, regulations, professional standards, SOPs, policies, and quality systems • Support pharmacy inspection, audit, accreditation, and regulatory readiness • Maintain accurate, timely, complete, and audit-ready pharmacy and verification records • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy requirements • Perform verification and clinical review through approved pharmacy management systems and secure technology platforms • Collaborate with onsite technicians, fulfillment personnel, pharmacists, pharmacy leadership, and remote team members • Provide professional direction and support to pharmacy technicians and interns within legal scope • Coordinate with the VP of Pharmacy and operations leadership regarding volume, staffing, workflow issues, and resources • Participate in quality improvement, medication-error prevention, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, retraining, CAPA, and Plan of Correction activities • Communicate with patients, prescribers, pharmacy personnel, and authorized parties • Respond to prescription clarification requests and clinical questions • Collaborate on workflow optimization, process development, operational scaling, and organizational growth initiatives • Participate in virtual meetings, training, quality initiatives, and operational projects • Maintain a secure workspace, reliable connectivity, and responsiveness during scheduled shifts • Follow remote-work, cybersecurity, data-protection, and confidentiality policies

🎯 Requirements

• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy • Eligible to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas • Prior pharmacist experience; 2+ years preferred • Strong working knowledge of Texas pharmacy laws and regulations • Strong working knowledge of applicable USP standards • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements • Knowledge of prescription verification and medication safety practices • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment independently in a remote environment • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively with remote and onsite pharmacy teams • Ability to use pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, secure communication platforms, and other technology required for remote pharmacy operations • Reliable internet connection and a private, secure workspace suitable for handling protected health information (PHI) • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with company security and privacy requirements • Ability to meet scheduling requirements, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays • Experience with high-volume prescription fulfillment or pharmacy operations preferred • Experience in a compounding pharmacy environment preferred • Experience with sterile and/or nonsterile compounding preferred • Experience with telepharmacy, remote verification, or technology-enabled pharmacy operations preferred • Experience with pharmacy quality assurance programs, audits, inspections, or accreditation processes preferred • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and technology-enabled fulfillment workflows preferred • Experience participating in process improvement, CAPA, root-cause analysis, or medication-error prevention initiatives preferred • Experience training or supervising pharmacy technicians and interns preferred • Experience working effectively in remote or distributed healthcare teams preferred • Reliable personal laptop or desktop computer before start date • Quality headset or microphone for video calls and meetings before start date • High-speed internet connection before start date
