📋 Description

• Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy • Validate pharmacy technician prescription data entry • Verify filled prescriptions for drug, dose, quantity, NDC, and labeling accuracy before shipment • Perform daily prospective drug utilization reviews and resolve clinical flags • Manage specialty medication handling, including cold-chain verification • Provide outbound patient counseling by phone on drug education, side effects, dosing, storage, and adherence • Handle inbound clinical patient calls and document interactions in the pharmacy management system • Provide bilingual counseling to Spanish-speaking patients where applicable • Contact prescribers to clarify incomplete, ambiguous, or inappropriate prescriptions • Collaborate with prescribers on therapeutic substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives • Supervise pharmacy technicians across data entry, processing, packaging, and fulfillment workflows • Conduct quality checks and provide corrective feedback on technician work • Escalate technician performance trends and participate in coaching and training • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state pharmacy practice acts, federal DEA regulations, and company policies • Oversee handling, documentation, and destruction of PHI-containing records • Participate in audits, prescription error tracking, near-miss reporting, and pharmacovigilance • Maintain storage compliance for temperature-sensitive medications • Collaborate with pharmacy, patient services, clinical, compliance, and technology teams • Coordinate with shipping and fulfillment teams to resolve packaging and delivery issues • Provide clinical input on technology and workflow enhancements • Participate in huddles, quality reviews, and department meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy • Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy • Strong command of the English language (written and verbal) • Demonstrated ability to perform high-volume prescription verification with strong attention to detail and accuracy • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and internal workflow tools • Bilingual Spanish preferred for phone-based patient counseling • 3+ years of experience in a mail order, specialty, retail or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy preferred • Active pharmacy licensure required in home state • Candidates must obtain licensure in 3 additional states within the first 9 months of hire • Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting protocols preferred • Must work rotating shifts Monday-Friday, 7:30am-9pm ET, and rotating Saturdays 7:00am-5pm ET
