• Lead the project engineering team defining and reviewing technical requirements for Duck Creek applications • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software upgrades with minimal business disruption • Provide technical leadership for coding, testing, deployment, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations • Serve as the primary contact and escalation point for engineering, customization, and customer issues • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver upgrades on schedule • Engage stakeholders, provide regular updates, and manage expectations • Analyze release notes and code changes to assess upgrade impacts on existing applications • Debug custom and base code and provide workarounds or solutions to implementation teams and customers • Use Duck Creek upgrade tools to generate differential analysis and low-impact upgrade paths • Identify automation opportunities and develop utilities for faster, more effective upgrades • Manage tasks independently across multiple complex projects • Triage issues with customer counterparts and present solutions • Review work, mentor team members, and share knowledge • Identify upgrade risks, communicate issues, and develop mitigation strategies • Manage active delivery remediations with customers before upgrades • Develop and execute deployment strategies that minimize downtime and support smooth production transitions • Provide post-deployment support and troubleshooting • Analyze deployment outcomes and implement continuous process improvements • Develop team members’ product knowledge, technical skills, and customization best practices
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience in network administration, programming, or information systems • Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in software development • Experience in customer-facing roles • Experience managing teams and the performance of direct reports • Deep understanding of the Duck Creek product suite and its technical components • Deep professional experience with C#, SQL, Visual Studio, Microsoft Foundation technologies, Windows Server 2003/2008 administration and configuration, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, HTML, CSS, and AJAX • Deep professional experience with .NET solutions, SQL, and relational database design • Experience with XML and XSL • Experience leveraging Generative AI and AI-powered development tools, such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot • Ability to evaluate, implement, and govern AI-driven automation solutions while maintaining security, quality, and compliance • Experience/knowledge of P&C insurance software applications and software development lifecycles • Experience with systems integration, including Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, and third-party systems • Experience with Duck Creek Example Platform solutions for Policy Administration, Billing, and/or ASW Claims preferred • Effective verbal and written communication • Ability to work effectively in teams and build positive relationships • Ability to analyze complex situations and generate creative solutions • Willingness to accept responsibility and achieve meaningful outcomes • Ability to adapt to change, embrace new technologies, and learn quickly • Travel: 0–25% • Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location
