📋 Description

• Provide day-to-day employment law counseling on hiring, performance management, discipline, terminations, accommodations, leaves, wage and hour compliance, investigations, employee relations, and state-specific mandates • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws • Draft, review, and update employment policies, handbooks, and procedures • Advise company officers and senior management on employment law and personnel issues • Research and prepare legal memoranda and opinions • Supervise federal and state litigation and oversee employment litigation and EEOC charges • Respond to administrative complaints and information requests • Negotiate employment disputes, severance agreements, and settlements • Support business transactions, corporate governance, products, services, and business relationships • Provide employment-law support for transactions, including due diligence, integration planning, and workforce risk assessments • Train internal clients and company leadership on legal issues • Represent the company before federal and state regulatory authorities • Prepare and submit mandated regulatory filings • Select and oversee outside counsel • Research and advise on statutory law, case law, administrative rules, and regulations • Monitor legislative and regulatory proposals and assist with company positions • Lead a practice-area team and coach and mentor Legal Department members • Develop, interpret, and improve company policies and programs • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school • 8+ years of relevant legal experience • Expertise in employment law, including benefits and compensation • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, and state-specific requirements • Strong business acumen • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
