📋 Description

• Accurately abstract data into appropriate client electronic medical record systems • Follow Official ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Guidelines for Coding, UHDDS guidelines, and CMS directives • Perform data entry of required abstracted patient information into the client’s information system • Assign Present on Admission indicators according to AHA POA guidelines • Query physicians to clarify conflicting, imprecise, incomplete, ambiguous, or inconsistent clinical information • Interact with Clinical Documentation staff according to account requirements • Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better while meeting productivity standards • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts according to designated workflow • Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements • Assign discharge dispositions • Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues for follow-up and resolution • Communicate with Clinical Documentation Improvement and/or Revenue Cycle teams for account follow-up and reconciliation • Maintain required productivity and quality requirements • Maintain coding credential requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential required • 3+ years of inpatient coding in an acute care setting required • 5+ years and/or Trauma Level 1/Academic Teaching facility experience preferred • Proficient in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding • 3+ years of coding within the US required • Strong collaboration skills • Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities and techniques • Consistent initiative with strong drive for results and success • Commitment to a team environment • Excellent interpersonal skills • Well-developed written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including deep listening and attention to detail • Ability to self-motivate and self-direct • Strong time management and organizational skills • Commitment and adherence to company Core Values • Applicants for U.S.-based positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Visa sponsorship is not available
