• Evaluate engineering concepts and develop functional structural designs of marine vessels and components • Produce new structural plans with little or no guidance • Provide design support by reviewing project requirements, meeting with clients and project team members, and drafting project reports • Provide project progress updates, client issues, and potential problems with proposed solutions to the project manager • Develop and maintain familiarity with USCG and ABA regulations • Document work activities, significant project events, and project-related communications in personal logs and company files • Participate in continuous improvement of internal design processes, procedures, and standards • Safeguard client and EBDG proprietary materials, ideas, copyrights, and inventions • Understand and follow EBDG safety procedures and policies • Foster a continuous learning philosophy
• Minimum of five years of experience within the maritime industry, providing lofting or design support • High school diploma or GED • Ship Constructor experience in structures required • AutoCAD certificate or equivalent experience • Strong AutoCAD and Rhino skills • Work experience with licensed engineering firms or marine-related production or transportation industries • Thorough understanding of marine construction materials • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with solid reasoning • Detail-oriented ability to interpret data and develop design solutions • Proficiency in technical research, reporting, and clear written communication • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to present technical ideas clearly • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently • Flexibility to travel by car, plane, and vessel • Ability to perform vessel inspections, including climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and conducting physical tasks in varied environmental conditions
