âą Assign engineers to client losses in the assigned area and manage quality control âą Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings âą Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage âą Provide guidance and leadership on complex losses âą Implement engineering strategies within the assigned engineering team âą Collaborate with investigators to produce detailed cause-and-origin reports âą Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions âą Document and maintain billable hours on a time-and-expense basis âą Collaborate with EFI's national forensic expert team on projects âą Perform other assigned duties âą Support organizational quality programs
âą Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required âą Professional Engineering (PE) license required in the resident state âą Eight (8) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required âą Experience in forensic engineering, structural damage assessment, and failure analysis âą Experience determining causes of structural failure âą Experience with storm and roof damage assessments âą Experience with building envelope investigations âą Experience evaluating structural collapses âą Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills âą PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products âą Excellent interpersonal skills âą Ability to work independently or in a team environment âą Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods âą Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, and work overhead âą Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather âą Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds âą Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds âą Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day âą Ability to travel as required
