📋 Description

• Provide strategic legal and business advice to Alliance Management and other functions managing ongoing contractual relationships • Manage post-execution legal support for license, collaboration, M&A, and other agreements • Prepare, review, and negotiate complex R&D and commercial agreements • Advise on substantive transactional matters, including research, service, partnership, sponsorship, and healthcare-related agreements • Provide general legal and contract support for specified Lilly Research Labs therapeutic areas and cross-geography projects • Lead legal aspects of governance, milestones and royalties, reporting obligations, dispute resolution, termination, and other agreement lifecycle issues • Identify and resolve sophisticated legal issues and drive successful business outcomes amid ambiguity • Ensure agreements comply with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines • Advise legal leadership and clients to maximize the potential of pipeline and commercialized assets • Translate complex technical, performance, and legal issues into understandable terms and recommend strategic solutions • Navigate legal disciplines affecting R&D and commercial organizations • Own matters and projects, identify legal issues, and assist attorneys and stakeholders on cross-functional projects • Keep abreast of changes in the law • Represent Lilly externally to partners, customers, and suppliers • Resolve legal issues through negotiation and legal expertise • Help direct outside counsel

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) • Licensed to practice law in at least one of the 50 States • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience related to drafting, review, and negotiation of sophisticated transactions • Experience may be from a relevant law firm, an in-house law department, or a combination of both • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • No employer support or sponsorship for work authorization or visas • Understanding of drug development and pharmaceutical industry experience • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify creative and innovative solutions to transactional issues and process improvements • Sound judgment, commitment to ethical conduct, and high attention to detail • Demonstrated business acumen • Ability to prioritize and lead workflows for multiple assignments in parallel • Ability to quickly understand and integrate with Lilly Legal and the pharmaceutical industry • Ability to absorb complex technical and scientific information • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline advantageous
