📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and risk control surveys of moderately sophisticated current and prospective policyholders' operations • Assess exposure potential and existing controls; prepare risk control reports and communicate findings to insureds and agents • Consult with policyholders on operations, claims trends, insured coverages, loss drivers, exposures, and improvement recommendations • Customize consultative services, including hazard control assessments, ergonomic surveys, and slip-and-fall surveys • Collaborate with Risk Control team members and subject matter experts on advanced technical questions • Provide updates to Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to improve renewal decision-making • Market risk control functions through agency visits and agency or association meetings • Deliver advanced training and on-site loss control surveys • Develop written recommendations to control hazards and prevent or reduce insured losses • Identify accounts benefiting from ongoing routine service or focused short-term service • Analyze previous losses and current exposures for highly sophisticated accounts • Document tailored services in service reports • Develop positive relationships with accounts and agents • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection related field or equivalent relevant experience • Three years of experience in risk control or safety role, or related experience • Alternative Risk Control Specialist qualification: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection related field or equivalent relevant experience and five years of experience in risk control or safety role, or related experience • Certified Safety Professional certification preferred • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite • Strong knowledge of industrial, construction, fire, and commercial automotive safety • Good knowledge of nationally recognized standards and codes, including OSHA, DOT and NFPA • Ability to understand and evaluate risk • Ability to identify and visualize potential loss exposures • Strong problem-solving skills • Strong customer service skills • Ability to work effectively with others and independently • Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines • Good verbal and written communication skills, including documentation skills • Travel required • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving
