📋 Description

• Enter patient demographic data from EPIC and/or other hospital billing software into EMS|MC billing software • Check insurance websites to discover and verify patient insurance and maximize reimbursement • Update patient insurance and demographic information from various databases • Ensure compliance with patient-matching standards when adding patient information • Provide feedback to the Supervisor regarding deficiencies, variances, and billing issues • Process assigned pending and rejected claims accurately and timely • Build and maintain internal relationships to address client needs • Meet or exceed contracted client service-level agreements, turnaround-time, and compliance standards • Perform additional hospital-data assignments, special projects, and meetings as directed • Provide backup assistance to Coding Specialist, Revenue Cycle Specialist, and Customer Service departments • Maintain specified performance standards including SLAs, A/R aging, net collection percentages, and average cash per trip • Perform typing/data entry continuously in a general office environment

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma • At least one-year experience in health care office, production, or clinical environment or comparable classroom experience • Strong comfort level learning new computer programs and software at a rapid pace • Ability to learn, understand and work within specific client requirements • Ability to learn, understand and apply applicable HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and liability regulations/guidelines • Strong internal customer service skills • Good verbal and written communication skills • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to function within a cross-functional team setting and independently • Detail oriented with strong desire for accuracy • Ability to manage time and maintain focus, concentration, and productivity while performing repetitive work • Strong, accurate data entry skills • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future • No current or future visa sponsorship available
