📋 Description

• Perform DER/DG interconnection and distribution planning studies, including hosting capacity, power flow, voltage analysis, and protection coordination • Evaluate solar, battery storage, and EV impacts and identify system constraints and mitigation strategies • Develop and maintain distribution system models using CYME, Synergi, or similar platforms • Coordinate with transmission, substation, distribution design, automation, and other cross-functional teams • Support client-facing project work, technical discussions, and study reviews • Contribute to the quality and consistency of engineering deliverables • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing • Help advance grid modernization efforts and integrate distributed energy resources into utility distribution systems

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field • 5+ years of experience in electric utility or distribution planning • Experience with distribution modeling and engineering analysis tools such as CYME, Synergi, ASPEN, or WindMil • Experience supporting DER/DG interconnection or planning studies • Ability to travel up to 5% as required • FE/EIT certification or ability to obtain • Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering • Preferred: Experience with complex DER studies, hosting capacity analysis, grid modernization, non-wires alternatives, project execution, client presentations, project financials, protective device coordination, arc flash analysis, data analysis or scripting, LoadSEER, forecasting, or long-term planning studies
