• Review final and near-final transcripts of legal proceedings with accompanying audio • Edit, proofread, punctuate, and finalize deposition, hearing, and trial transcripts • Proof transcripts with audio to ensure accuracy of the verbatim record • Search for errors in text, punctuation, spelling, and supporting pages • Apply digital signatures to transcript certificate pages and submit transcripts for production • Properly archive all files • Prepare and maintain required reports and logs and respond to communications promptly • Organize and prioritize daily assignments according to deadlines and job size • Provide support to Esquire’s service partner programs • Perform other duties as assigned • Meet quality expectations and support Service Provider Relations as needed
• Current CSR, CCR, RPR, CVR, or Michigan CER certification • Proficient in English with strong grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary knowledge • Knowledge of medical, legal, and technical terminology • Skills in editing and exporting functions of one or more CAT software programs • Ability to identify hardware or software problems and follow escalation procedures • Knowledge of computer backup, archival methods, and security protocols • Familiarity with reference materials and online library resources • Ability to proofread transcripts with audio for consistency and accuracy according to spoken words and Esquire style guides • Knowledge of the Associated Press Stylebook or equivalent • Working knowledge of court procedures and legal documents • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills • Strong discretion, ethics, and professional conduct • Ability to work a flexible schedule, multitask, shift priorities, meet deadlines, and take direction from multiple supervisors • Ability to work collaboratively on a team • Maintain confidentiality of reported proceedings and associated documents • Problem-solving abilities • Regular and acceptable attendance while working from home • Familiarity with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite • Follow IT department technical requirements • Minimum touch-typing speed of 70 wpm with a high degree of accuracy • Must be available by phone, email, and internal instant messaging during scheduled work hours • Reliable power and internet source and appropriate battery backup • Ability to remain seated and maintain concentration for long periods
