âą Provide expert utilization-management reviews for cardiovascular Electrophysiology and Diagnostic Cardiology cases âą Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with treating providers regarding appropriate, high-value care âą Collaborate with leadership, management, and clinical staff on complex cases and decision-making âą Guide Initial Clinical Reviewers and support best-practice application âą Provide clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals âą Discuss determinations with requesting physicians or ordering providers within regulatory timeframes âą Apply medical and clinical review guidelines to ensure consistent, compliant physician review processes âą Document communications with medical office staff and physicians accurately and promptly âą Participate in ongoing inter-rater reliability training âą Assist the Senior Medical Director with utilization-management research, guideline interpretation, and system-support questions âą Serve as Medical Director for selected health plans or regions when requested
âą MD/DO/MBBS Degree âą Current, unrestricted clinical license in medicine or required specialty âą Obtain and maintain medical licenses in the state of residence and other states required by business needs âą Active Board Certification in Electrophysiology, or qualifying alternatives: active Cardiology board certification with prior Electrophysiology board certification, or active Cardiology board certification with 5+ years of active Electrophysiologist practice âą Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills âą Computer proficiency âą Minimum of five years' Electrophysiology practice experience is preferred âą Not under current exclusion or sanction by any state or federal health care program âą No history of major disciplinary or legal action by a state medical board âą High-speed internet over 10 Mbps at home âą Ability for call center employees to plug directly into the home internet router âą Government-issued photo ID for identity verification âą Comprehensive background check âą In-person I-9 verification âą May be subject to drug screening prior to employment âą AI tools prohibited during interviews
