• Provide individualized academic coaching to nursing students identified through performance data, standardized assessment results, faculty referral, student self-referral, or approved early-alert criteria • Use student performance indicators to identify needs for targeted academic support, remediation, or NCLEX readiness coaching • Facilitate coaching appointments, virtual office hours, small-group workshops, and academic support sessions • Support study strategies, test-taking skills, time management, clinical judgment, critical thinking, content review, and NCLEX-style question analysis • Develop individualized success plans with goals, action steps, timelines, and follow-up expectations • Track coaching participation, remediation completion, success-plan progress, and student success indicators • Collaborate with instructional faculty to reinforce course expectations and communicate student progress or concerns • Conduct NCLEX-style question review sessions and remediation aligned with course outcomes, program expectations, ATI resources, and student learning needs • Refer students to academic advising, tutoring, accessibility services, library resources, wellness supports, and other University resources • Maintain documentation of coaching contacts, student progress, remediation activities, and outcomes • Provide trends, summaries, and recommendations to School of Nursing leadership • Complete required training, attend required meetings, and follow University policies, School of Nursing expectations, and Faculty Handbook requirements • Respond to student and University communications within expected timelines • Cultivate a caring, inclusive, and student-centered environment • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard student records • Perform other duties as assigned
• Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution required • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license required • New York Registered Nurse licensure or willingness to apply for New York State licensure preferred • Experience in nursing education, academic coaching, student success, remediation, NCLEX preparation, or related student support work preferred • Strong understanding of nursing curriculum, clinical judgment development, NCLEX test plans, standardized testing strategies, and evidence-informed academic support practices • Experience with learning management systems, educational technology, video conferencing tools, standardized assessment platforms, and student performance data preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to distinguish academic coaching and support from instructional, grading, progression, and other academic decisions • Ability to work effectively with adult, online, nontraditional, and diverse student populations • Ability to manage multiple student contacts, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and follow established communication and documentation expectations • Commitment to student success, academic integrity, professional accountability, and continuous improvement • Ability and willingness to perform each essential duty satisfactorily • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard student records consistent with FERPA, University policy, and applicable privacy requirements • Sufficient scheduling availability to support student engagement and accessibility
