📋 Description

• Collaborate with product managers to define new product initiatives and provide candid feedback • Offer an operator's viewpoint on background screening processes, including manual effort, delays, and real costs • Identify compliance and workflow constraints for product designs • Review requirements, specifications, and prototypes as an industry expert • Explain how screening firms and their customers evaluate and purchase new technology • Help product managers sharpen problem definitions and challenge assumptions • Contribute to projects with Fama's product managers and R&D leadership • Provide strategic advisory support without owning the roadmap, backlog, or delivery

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience in the background screening industry • Experience owning or managing components of case fulfillment, review, escalation, or disputes • Close experience in a consumer reporting agency, screening technology vendor, applicant tracking system with a screening integration, or large employer's screening operation • Practical knowledge of the regulatory landscape, particularly FCRA compliance and state and local regulations • Structured thinking and ability to articulate critical operational realities in writing • Grounded perspective on AI product design and a critical mindset toward demonstrations • Current or recent experience at a background screening firm in operations leadership, product management, or compliance (strongly preferred) • Direct responsibility for a screening operations team or quality assurance (strongly preferred) • Broad understanding of various screening check types (strongly preferred) • Product management experience (a plus) • Involvement with PBSA or a comparable industry organization (strongly preferred) • Previous consulting or advisory experience (strongly preferred) • Availability for 10 to 15 hours per week with some overlap during Pacific business hours • Must be able to work as an independent contractor on a 1099 basis • Must comply with confidentiality, non-solicitation, conflict disclosure, NDA, and intellectual property requirements
