📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with safety and ergonomic standards • Commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year; deployments usually last 23 days and require travel away from home • Perform required duties in the field and an in-home office environment

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or insurance experience highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license and bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Willingness and ability to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Willingness and ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to perform physical actions including bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing, speaking, reading, writing, and key entering • English speaking, reading, and writing required
