📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate the extent of loss, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with safety/ergonomic standards • Travel away from home for CAT deployments when assigned • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license • Bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Willing and able to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to perform required physical actions, including carrying up to 50 lbs. • Ability to speak, read, and write English • Candidates must reside in the Greater Cape Girardeau, MO area • Willingness to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments per year • Willingness to travel away from residence for CAT deployments, usually for 23 days
