📋 Description

• Reach out to customers to collect payments for past-due mortgage accounts • Counsel customers on Loss Mitigation • Handle tasks from other Servicing areas or projects as needed • Listen to customers' situations and determine collection strategies • Make collection calls and create correspondence according to agency-specific timelines • Develop action plans, techniques, and strategies to minimize loss • Maintain accurate customer-contact records in the automated collection system • Provide customer service regarding basic collection issues • Reduce delinquencies for assigned accounts • Enlist management support when necessary to accelerate collection • Scan, file, and re-file reports and documents in the bank's imaging system for default-services tasks

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of mortgage experience required • 2+ years of direct experience in Default/Collections • Working knowledge of mortgage documents and understanding of the mortgage life cycle • General understanding of servicing agency loans: FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and all regulatory and servicing requirements dealing with debt collection • Basic knowledge of Loss Mitigation on agency loans: FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and initiative • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills • Problem-solving, discretion, and judgment skills • Ability to interpret and apply policy and regulations quickly and independently • Applicants must reside within the United States
