📋 Description

• Provide telephone triage and health advice to callers across the United States • Use Schmitt-Thompson protocols and clinical judgment to determine appropriate patient dispositions • Assist callers in making timely medical decisions • Answer questions about medical conditions, medications, diagnostic tests, and other healthcare matters • Provide patient support by addressing medical questions and concerns • Promptly complete confidential electronic medical records according to company documentation standards • Provide clear and concise information and direction during patient encounters • Document all telephone encounters, which are recorded for liability and quality assurance • Participate in staff meetings via telephone or video • Complete remote classroom orientation and subsequent precepting shifts

🎯 Requirements

• Must possess a compact nursing license • Active California nursing license required, along with an active compact license in the home state • Completion of a recognized Nursing program • Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse • Experience preferably in ER/Urgent Care, Adult, Pediatric, OB/GYN, Orthopedic, Ambulatory Care, Home Health, or ICU • Willingness to obtain additional licenses as requested by Fonemed • Strong communication skills • Strong clinical assessment skills • Strong computer skills within a Windows environment and keyboarding ability • Private HIPAA-compliant home office with high-speed internet connectivity • Ability to provide own computer equipment, second monitor, keyboard, mouse, wired USB headset, webcam, and high-speed internet • Ability to participate in staff meetings via telephone or video • Full compliance with FONEMED policies and HIPAA privacy requirements • Ability to work 32–40 hours per week for full-time employment; part-time may be considered with open availability • Availability for mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional split shifts • Ability to work every other weekend • Ability to complete three full-time weeks of mandatory orientation and training • Ability to complete background and drug screening before employment • Bilingual English/Spanish considered an asset • Previous telephone triage experience using electronic triage software and computerized medical protocols considered an asset • Experience using Barton Schmitt/David Thompson guidelines considered an asset
