📋 Description

• Deploy, configure, and maintain CloudSQL/PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB • Own data pipelines and processing layers, ensuring performance and reliability • Work with developers and infrastructure teams to resolve complex database and application-stack problems • Tune queries and right-size instances to improve efficiency and reduce cloud costs • Implement encryption at rest and in transit, row-level security, and PII masking • Design and implement high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies • Monitor databases and proactively identify bottlenecks • Integrate database observability into the global monitoring stack and infrastructure-as-code ecosystem • Lead complex data migrations and schema changes with minimal downtime • Partner with Application Architects on scalable, cost-efficient data models • Mentor developers and build tooling for better code and schemas • Participate in collaborative design, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing • Manage workflow through Jira and participate in continuous planning • Define and achieve performance and reliability metrics with leadership • Utilize AI coding assistants and automated tuning agents to eliminate toil

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 3-10 years of experience as a Database Administrator in high-performance production environments • Deep technical expertise in MSSQL, including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS • Deep technical expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB • Experience managing databases in GCP and AWS • Demonstrated ability to significantly improve query performance and reduce cloud infrastructure costs through optimization • Extensive experience implementing and testing failover clusters, replication, and backup/recovery strategies • Expert ability with Python, Bash, PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, MySQL Procedural, and MQL • Ability to build idempotent, version-controlled automation for management, deployments, migrations, and self-healing systems • Willingness to participate in on-call response • Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as New Relic or native cloud tools (preferred) • Experience managing databases within audited environments such as SOC2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS and implementing data privacy controls (preferred)
