📋 Description

• Directly manage the SQL Developer team, including assigning and prioritizing work, setting expectations, and overseeing day-to-day workload • Own performance management through regular 1:1s, feedback, goal-setting, and contributions to performance reviews • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to SQL Developers • Lead code reviews and establish coding standards, patterns, and best practices • Lead onboarding and training for new developers • Escalate complex technical issues and production incidents, guiding troubleshooting and root-cause analysis • Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions • Report team progress, capacity, and risks to the VP-Development • Design scalable SQL Server database architectures supporting ERP and application data • Develop and manage conceptual, logical, and physical data models • Design, develop, manage, and optimize tables, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and T-SQL code • Manage and monitor SQL Agent jobs • Partner with Infrastructure on backups, restores, server permissions, and HIPAA compliance • Monitor and tune database performance, including execution plans, indexing, blocking, and deadlocks • Support ERP data replication across Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Finance, AR, AP, Shipping, and Warehouse Operations • Design and support SSIS, SSRS, and other database integrations • Build reporting-friendly structures for Power BI and SSRS • Ensure data integrity, validation, security, and auditability • Partner with application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams on data initiatives • Support evaluation and implementation of data lake solutions such as Snowflake

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience leading, mentoring, or providing direction to other developers, ideally in a working/hands-on lead capacity • 10+ years of professional experience in application and database development with relational databases • Strong SQL and T-SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, set-based logic, stored procedures, and views • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014–2022) • Experience building and maintaining reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) • Familiarity with indexing strategy, query execution plans, and performance-tuning tools • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/BI tools • Skills and interest in working on a data lake solution, such as Snowflake • Ability to work in Windows and/or Linux server environments, with comfort performing basic database administration tasks (backups, restores, user permissions) • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with spreadsheets for data analysis • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision • Python experience is a plus, particularly for scripting data pipelines, automation, or lightweight ETL tasks • Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to accelerate development, review code, and improve productivity • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
