📋 Description

• Execute day-to-day workflows for an assigned area of the vulnerability management program • Monitor scanning output, vendor advisories, threat feeds, and open-source intelligence for applicable and emerging vulnerabilities • Escalate higher-severity or ambiguous findings to senior analysts and leads • Validate findings against advisories, product versions, and asset context, documenting determinations and audit-sufficient evidence • Prepare business-unit summary reports and remediation action plans with owners, deadlines, and approval routing • Onboard newly added systems and assess their findings • Create and manage remediation tickets in enterprise ITSM platforms • Identify asset ownership using configuration management data • Follow up and escalate remediation activity through confirmed closure • Validate remediation through credentialed re-scans or business-unit evidence • Compare remediation against required patch or configuration state and assemble closure evidence • Support risk-acceptance and exception intake, routing, extensions, and closure • Support critical and emerging-vulnerability escalation and coordinated response sessions • Maintain accurate platform and supporting-system records and conduct data-quality reviews • Own recurring remediation trackers, business-unit communications, validation readouts, leadership reports, and executive presentations • Refine operational communications for clarity, tone, and audience • Use approved AI-assisted tools for research, drafting, summarization, and documentation with human review • Build proficiency across program workflows and tooling and support additional activities and projects

🎯 Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, IT operations, SOC operations, technical writing, communications, program support, or a related field • Relevant internship experience, coursework, or completion of a cybersecurity boot camp will be considered • Working familiarity with cybersecurity concepts including vulnerabilities, patching, CVEs, CVSS scoring, and risk fundamentals • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to produce clear, organized, audience-calibrated written deliverables and audit-ready documentation • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint • Strong organizational habits, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through • Ability to manage multiple ongoing workstreams and meet deadlines in a structured, fast-paced operational environment • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues • Willingness to learn and consistently apply new tools, platforms, and workflows • Ability to leverage AI tools and independently use and refine prompts • Associate’s degree or equivalent professional work experience required • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Preferred exposure to enterprise vulnerability scanning platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7 • Preferred exposure to enterprise ITSM or ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira • Preferred experience producing structured written deliverables, executive-facing presentations, or recurring operational reports • Preferred familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence, Power BI, or Tableau • Preferred exposure to regulated industries, including NERC-CIP environments • Preferred cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CySA+ • Preferred familiarity with prioritizing findings using asset criticality, exposure, and compensating controls • Preferred exposure to regulatory-audit evidence handling, including NERC CIP or BCSI • Fortress takes part in the E-Verify process for all new hires • Conditional offers for US positions require a drug test
