📋 Description

• Help install AES radio units, antennas, wiring, and power supplies at customer buildings • Connect AES radio equipment to fire alarm control panels as directed • Help test fire alarm and radio systems and operate test equipment • Confirm alarm signals reach the monitoring center • Learn to troubleshoot radio signal, programming, and communication problems alongside a mentor technician • Record time, parts used, and completed work in the digital system • Keep tools, test equipment, parts, and vehicle inventory organized, stocked, and in good working order • Follow safety rules, wear required PPE, and stop to ask when safety is uncertain • Represent FSS professionally at job sites and refer technical questions to a mentor or supervisor • Complete assigned on-the-job, safety, and manufacturer training • Progress toward more independent work and advancement to AES Radio Technician

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED • At least 18 years old • Valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's standards • Auto insurance coverage of at least $100,000/$300,000 for work driving • Basic hand-tool skills and a genuine interest in learning electrical and electronic systems • Ability to use a smartphone or tablet to log time and complete work records • OSHA and company safety rules, required PPE, and job-site safety guidelines • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds • Ability to climb and work from ladders and lifts, including at heights • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in attics and tight spaces • Ability to distinguish wire and indicator colors • Ability to work in all weather conditions • Successful background check and motor vehicle record review after a conditional offer • Preferred: Trade school, low-voltage, electrical, or telecommunications coursework • Preferred: Experience in construction, a skilled trade, or the military • Preferred: OSHA 10 certification
