📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain an AI-powered solution using Department of State data and reports • Develop and maintain document ingestion, chunking, embedding, retrieval, and RAG pipelines • Tune retrieval parameters against evaluation sets • Maintain and troubleshoot PGVector on PostgreSQL, including indexing, query performance, and schema updates • Support daily operation of the LLM serving layer • Assist with model updates, version testing, and rollback procedures • Monitor GPU utilization, memory usage, and inference latency • Integrate front-end features, prompt templates, and tool-calling workflows • Build and maintain API integrations between the LLM layer and downstream applications • Write and refine system prompts, few-shot examples, and prompt-engineering iterations • Build and run evaluation harnesses for retrieval accuracy and generation quality • Track regressions and document failure modes and edge cases • Assist with development environment setup, dependencies, containers, and services • Troubleshoot Redis, PostgreSQL, and PGAdmin issues related to the RAG pipeline • Contribute to a three-layer RAG/LLM test strategy covering retrieval, generation, and system/integration quality • Define acceptance criteria, test plans, and regression benchmarks • Maintain a golden/reference dataset of representative queries and expected answers or sources • Execute exploratory, pre-deployment, and periodic regression testing • Validate defect fixes against original cases and regression suites • Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks • Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture decisions • Participate in code reviews and communicate technical constraints and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 0+ years of related experience • Skills in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing • Technical skills in Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, SQL, Data Science, PyTorch, Docker, TensorFlow, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Linux, JavaScript, MATLAB, Architecture, Data Analytics, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure, Big Data, Hadoop, Visualization, Software Development, and Agile • Must currently possess an "Other" clearance • Must be able to obtain Secret clearance • No public trust or other clearance required • U.S. citizenship is not required • Ability to support a 30-hour scheduled work week • Travel required: less than 10%
