📋 Description

• Lead a distributed software development organization spanning legacy, modern, and cloud-native systems • Provide end-to-end leadership for teams working across Java/Spring, React, Python, SQL, AWS, and Kubernetes • Direct and support geographically distributed development teams across applications and workstreams • Own project planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk management, scope, schedule, and budget • Oversee contract obligations and delivery commitments • Run agile ceremonies and manage product and team backlogs • Lead sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, release planning, and tracking using Jira and Confluence • Define and enforce standards for coding, architecture, testing, documentation, and code reviews • Ensure secure development, automated testing, and deployment pipelines across technology stacks • Drive DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, automated quality checks, and continuous delivery into AWS and Kubernetes environments • Enable effective AI-assisted solution design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and troubleshooting • Define and enforce human-in-the-loop AI controls, security, privacy, traceability, and accountability • Apply compliance, security, and contractual requirements and oversee code, peer, and release reviews • Partner with customers, product owners, architects, security, infrastructure, and other stakeholders • Communicate decisions, progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical audiences • Use delivery, quality, and cycle-time metrics to drive modernization, cloud migration, and process improvements • Coach developers and team members, supporting learning, AI upskilling, and career growth • Set goals, prioritize workloads, balance capacity, and prevent bottlenecks and burnout • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, recognize performance, and address concerns • Build an inclusive, respectful, high-trust culture across remote team members • Support hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree • 5+ years of documented management or leadership experience • At least 5 years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including agile delivery • Experience leading senior developers and/or multidisciplinary application teams, including remote or distributed teams • Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, React, Python, AWS cloud services, Kubernetes, and associated integration patterns • Experience using AI-assisted development tools across design, implementation, testing, code review, documentation, and troubleshooting • Working knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native architectures, APIs, containers, automated testing, and secure development practices • Ability to communicate architecture, tradeoffs, status, risks, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required) • U.S. citizenship • Ability to successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation • Remote work location
