📋 Description

• Generate original short- and long-form articles and infographics for publication • Apply subject matter expertise to communication and outreach content • Follow content plans, editorial policies, and style standards • Review contributors’ content for scientific accuracy, clarity, audience alignment, quality, and timely delivery • Contribute qualitative and quantitative insights to platform content assessment • Provide scientific communication advice using education, training, and relevant experience • Monitor communications, trends, and developments in focus topics • Identify opportunities for future coverage • Coordinate multiple contributors and enforce editorial standards • Support an internet-based communication and outreach program • Travel occasionally as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Strategic Studies, Space Studies, or related field required • Relevant education and experience may be accepted in lieu of formal degree requirements • 5–7+ years of relevant experience in news editing, editorial production, public diplomacy, international affairs, or related work • Additional experience may be substituted for education • Familiarity with Earth sciences and space technology required • English fluency required • Active DoW Secret clearance preferred; highly qualified candidates eligible to obtain a clearance may also be considered • Strong editorial judgment and content quality assurance skills • Superior written and verbal communication skills • Ability to coordinate multiple contributors and enforce editorial standards • US citizenship required • Occasional travel required • Scheduled availability of 40 hours per week
