• Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on customers' basic biomedical equipment • Evaluate basic biomedical equipment issues under supervision and implement appropriate repairs • Perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections as assigned • Assist experienced technicians with basic and complex repairs and resolutions • Communicate and partner effectively with teammates and colleagues • Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete required documentation • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and proper follow-up • Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals as instructed • Provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area as part of the local team • Share on-call responsibility when trained • Document repair actions and submit reports and summaries on schedule • Care for spares, tools, and test equipment and ensure calibration • Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for safe and effective medical equipment use • Use manuals, technical support, FaceTime, and online resources to answer questions during planned maintenance • Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements • Identify and immediately report customer quality or compliance concerns • Ensure work orders, vendor service reports, time and expense reports, planned maintenance activities, purchase orders, and other duties are documented accurately and timely • Ensure all test equipment is tracked and calibrated on time
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment • Analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner • One year of experience • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity • Required vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception • Willingness to work after hours or a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary • Compliance with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test • Compliance with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks when applicable • Legally authorized to work in the United States; GE HealthCare will not sponsor employment visas
