📋 Description

• Build, coach and scale a Forward Deployed Engineering team of approximately five engineers • Set goals, career paths, feedback cycles and a culture of ownership, accountability and customer focus • Establish engineering standards for code, prompts, agent design, testing, evaluation and production readiness • Build staffing models and assign FDE talent to high-value engagements • Hire, onboard, coach and retain Forward Deployed Engineers • Own delivery from use case through prototype, live test, production and optimization • Partner with Sales, Account Teams, Pre-Sales, FDE leaders and Customer Success to prioritize AI use cases and define measurable outcomes • Serve as escalation point for key engagements and build relationships with customer CIO, CTO, digital and CX leaders • Drive prototype-to-production conversion through KPIs, readiness frameworks, evaluation pipelines, guardrails and operational handoffs • Create repeatable delivery methodologies, playbooks and engagement models • Package skills, agents, prompts, integrations, evaluations and deployment patterns into reusable assets and reference architectures • Champion AI-native development and adoption of coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code and Kiro • Contribute to lighthouse AI wins and referenceable customer stories • Turn field learnings into product requirements and influence the Product and Engineering roadmap • Collaborate on engagement triggers, target accounts, scoping, positioning and expansion opportunities • Align strategy with leaders across FDE, Pre-Sales, AI Architecture and Services • Establish metrics and executive reporting for time-to-value, deployment milestones, adoption, satisfaction, AI-influenced ACV, asset reuse and utilization • Contribute to commercial and IP considerations for co-developed solutions • Review architectures and step into critical customer moments when needed

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years leading customer-facing technical teams such as forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, technical consulting or professional services • Experience standing up a new team or service line strongly preferred • Proven ability to attract, develop and retain senior technical talent • Experience operating in highly matrixed, customer-facing enterprise organizations and aligning Sales, Product, Engineering and Services • Demonstrated innovation leadership and ability to create repeatable processes • Strong hands-on background in software engineering • Working proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java or equivalent • Experience with REST APIs, Git and modern cloud architectures such as AWS • Practical depth in LLMs and agentic AI, including prompting, tool calling, orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, grounding, evaluation, guardrails and observability • Experience taking AI or software solutions from prototype to production, including enterprise systems, data and API integrations • Familiarity with AI-native development environments and coding agents • Genesys, CX, contact center or conversational/voice AI expertise valuable but not required • Ability to translate complex AI architectures into business outcomes and measurable ROI • Strong storytelling, workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills • Understanding of enterprise sales cycles, value-based positioning and technical delivery’s impact on adoption, renewal and expansion • Ability to balance customer success investment with commercial discipline and prioritize in ambiguity • Bias for action, high ownership and strong sense of urgency • Regular travel to customer sites and team events as required by engagements
