📋 Description

• Perform detailed material and quantity takeoffs for structural metal fabrication projects • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope • Prepare accurate bids, estimates, and pricing proposals • Analyze material, labor, fabrication, and project costs • Prepare submittals, revisions, and RFI responses • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients regarding project requirements and pricing • Communicate directly with vendors and clients by phone when necessary • Support pre-construction activities and subcontractor coordination • Manage multiple estimates and project deadlines simultaneously • Work within the client's internal job tracking and AI-powered quoting system • Collaborate remotely with Mark VeRost and the senior estimator to review estimates and improve accuracy • Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost risks before bids are submitted • Maintain organized estimating documentation and project records • Adapt to client-specific processes, systems, and software

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of structural fabrication estimating experience • Strong experience with takeoffs, bid preparation, and cost estimation • Background in structural steel, custom metal fabrication, or related heavy fabrication • Strong attention to detail and proven focus on estimate accuracy • Fluent English, written and verbal • Strong communication and coordination skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Reliable full-time availability for 40 hours/week • Comfortable working with remote client systems and software • Ability to work within the US Eastern Time Zone • Comfortable with a month-to-month employment structure • Reliable, self-directed, and able to work without constant supervision • Experience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar estimating, takeoff, or construction management platforms is preferred • Experience with wastewater treatment projects, skids, heavy structural projects, complex custom fabrication, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, US-based construction or fabrication projects, or distributed teams is preferred • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent technical/trade experience is preferred
