📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end commissioning of advanced drive systems and power electronics • Ensure integration with shipboard power management and propulsion systems • Troubleshoot MV/LV drive systems, rectifiers, and inverters using oscilloscopes and diagnostic software • Analyze firing pulses, gate signals, and control logic • Validate Profibus, Modbus, and IEC 61850 communication protocols • Tune speed, torque, and current control loops within multi-drive architectures • Conduct diagnostic investigations at site locations, during port visits, or at sea • Resolve persistent technical challenges through evidence-based corrective action • Train naval and commercial customers on system operations, optimization, and preventative maintenance • Identify opportunities for service, spare parts, and system upgrades • Execute work according to departmental policies, safety guidelines, and maritime regulatory standards • Maintain service records, technical reports, and diagnostic logs • Adhere to maritime safety, naval security, environmental health, and safety standards • Serve as primary technical authority and final escalation point for complex drive system failures • Bridge field operations and design engineering to lead troubleshooting and establish commissioning standards • Drive systemic improvements in equipment reliability and performance

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university and minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in commissioning environments involving LV/MV drive and control systems; OR Associate’s Degree and minimum 7 years of relevant commissioning experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and minimum 10 years of relevant commissioning experience • US Person with the ability to achieve and maintain security clearance for Department of Defense (DoD) projects • Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time, often on short notice • Physically fit to board vessels offshore • Must be able to pass Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) • Expertise in complex drive system failures and troubleshooting • Proficiency with Digital Storage Oscilloscope, 5kV/10kV Megohmmeter, Micro-Ohmmeter (Ductor), Power Quality Analyzer, and True-RMS Multimeters • Strong technical aptitude using MS Office and relevant diagnostic software • Ability to prioritize work independently across weekly, monthly, and quarterly horizons • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with internal engineering teams and external customer stakeholders • Commitment to high personal and professional ethics • Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, trips, slips, falls, excessive noise, and required PPE • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
