📋 Description

• Conduct site visits to assess existing turbine and/or generator condition • Supervise signature tests before unit disassembly • Conduct daily phone calls with site teams to answer questions and anticipate problems • Provide additional work recommendations after dismantling and inspection • Review and approve site record sheets • Resolve non-conformities and general issues • Conduct site visits during critical project phases • Support commissioning and testing phases • Resolve reliability issues during the warranty period • Provide experience feedback to the design team • Serve as the main site contact for operation and maintenance contracts • Prepare service designs and related documentation for service projects • Support customers through condition assessments, spare parts, part refurbishment, and partial unit refurbishment • Work within a 20+ engineer Fleet Reliability & Operations team on hydro turbine and generator rehabilitation and new projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the hydro business • Willingness and ability to travel in North America and around the world • Ability to work remotely in a team and communicate effectively • Willingness to comply with pre-employment screening, including reference verification and background checks • Unrestricted USA work authorization • Legal authorization to work in the United States • Ability to obtain U.S. Government authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable • Knowledge of hydro turbine and generator design and erecting methods • Knowledge of calculation methods related to strength of materials, finite element simulation, metallurgy, and welding processes • PE license preferred
