📋 Description

• Lead the project accounting function supporting a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of complex customer contracts. • Develop and execute the vision, operating model, and talent strategy for the Project Accounting organization. • Build a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management. • Establish consistent accounting policies, governance, and scalable processes across business units. • Ensure accurate revenue recognition for customer contracts and partner with Technical Accounting on complex accounting conclusions, contract modifications, claims, variable consideration, and estimates. • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual project accounting close activities. • Review project financial results, forecasts, balance sheet accounts, and significant estimates. • Monitor project profitability, margin trends, contract assets, contract liabilities, reserves, and project risks. • Support external reporting and SEC disclosures where applicable. • Use Lean principles to standardize and continuously improve project accounting processes. • Drive innovation using ERP-based tools, analytics, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools. • Improve close timelines while enhancing quality and control. • Serve as a strategic partner to Operations, Project Management, Commercial Finance FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Executive Leadership. • Participate in project reviews and operational governance meetings. • Maintain SOX-compliant internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements. • Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors; drive remediation of audit findings and process improvements.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 15+ years of experience in project accounting or other controllership areas. • Strong experience and knowledge in Electrification project accounting activities. • Experience working across multi-country / multi-entity finance operations. • Demonstrated ability to document processes and standard work (process mapping / VSM experience preferred). • Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel; exposure to Power BI, or similar a plus). • Highly analytical with well-developed problem-solving skills. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Highly collaborative; demonstrated ability to collaborate across finance structures. • Resilient. • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; experience managing a team. • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. • Established project management skills.
