• Manage a portfolio of large, high-visibility, potentially high-risk electrical substation and FACTS projects • Lead first-of-a-kind solutions, projects involving penalties and rewards, and accelerated schedules • Act as the single point of contact for senior-level customer contacts and internal/external project teams • Lead project strategy, planning, resource allocation, execution, and control for complex work-scope projects • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, safety standards, and technical/engineering standards • Estimate project budgets and track or influence project costs • Ensure on-time project completion within budget • Engage in pre-contract scope, schedule, and cost development as required • Coordinate project development, implementation, and control with engineering fields and support functions • Coach Project Specialists, Project Managers, and Engineers to enhance project management skills • Interface with providers, subcontractors, and customers to align project specifications and requirements • Ensure site safety procedures and strict adherence to quality standards • Develop contracts and subcontractor work scopes and coordinate written contract administration • Coordinate issue resolution through change management and ensure timely collection of monies • Facilitate quantification and documentation of project performance with project teams and customers after project completion • Determine and communicate work-package percent complete and percent committed for estimate-at-completion financial forecasting
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management of electrical substations or relevant experience to the role • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time, including possible international travel • Must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies • Experience in Synchronous Condensers, STATCOMS, or Fixed Series Capacitors preferred • Prior experience managing high voltage electrical utility projects • Experience managing projects or programs involving multiple businesses and/or functions across the entire project cycle, from development and design through manufacturing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and test acceptance • Ability to manage external, customer-facing projects to successful completion • Ability to apply advanced technical, engineering, and quality assurance concepts to solve practical business problems • Experience working with global teams and partners • Ability to interface with executive-level management within sponsor and customer organizations • Ability to apply and coach managerial and leadership concepts and techniques • Strong decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously • PMI/PMP certification preferred; familiarity with modern project management techniques and software systems, including global resource planning systems and Primavera project management software • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities • Familiarity with contractual terms and experience managing customer-facing contracts • Familiarity with preparing proposals for complex substations, including international work and quality training • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
