📋 Description

• Execute contractual obligations and customer requirements with site and hub leadership • Maintain, repair, or replace parts on GE wind turbine generator electrical and mechanical equipment • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines • Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision • Observe all safety requirements • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis • Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary • Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines • Travel locally within the hub and occasionally stay overnight as required

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment • Basic computer skills • Valid driver’s license, which must be maintained • Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs. • Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily • Must meet manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs. including required gear • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities • Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call according to site needs • Ability to work occasional overnights as required by hub needs • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field • Preferred: Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field • Wind turbine experience • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience • Experience using hydraulic power tools • Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
