• Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site activities • Work on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators • Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines • Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis • Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary • Travel to and assist at other sites as needed
• High School Diploma or GED • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment • Minimum of 1 year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or minimum of 2 years of electrical work experience • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call per site needs • Willingness to assist at other sites / travel • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license • Ability to handle repetitive weight of approximately 50 lbs • Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily • Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs including required gear • Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Desired: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university • Desired: Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field • Desired: Wind turbine experience • Desired: Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience • Desired: Experience using hydraulic power tools • Desired: Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance, with working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
