• Translate and edit vital records, legal documents, official certificates, and academic transcripts from Amharic to English • Perform translation and editing assignments for a U.S. government client • Accept assignments on an as-needed basis • Provide translation and/or editing services under freelance independent-contractor arrangements
🎯 Requirements
• Must be a U.S. citizen • Willingness to undergo a Tier 1 background investigation, including fingerprinting • Native speaker of Amharic • Near-native English proficiency • Bachelor’s degree in translation or an equivalent qualification • Minimum of two to five years of proven experience as a translator and/or editor • Reliable, able to meet deadlines, and highly productive • Team player with excellent communication skills • Up-to-date Windows software • Excellent formatting skills • Comfortable with one-to-two-day deadlines • Able to provide per-word rates for translations, editing, or both • Willing to accept assignments as needed
