📋 Description

• Translate and/or edit legal content from English to German • Perform legal language services for a United States Government client • Apply correct U.S. legal and technical terminology in English-to-German work • Accept on-demand, as-needed freelance assignments • Remain available during 9–5 EST most days and at least 15 hours per week if needed

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required • Must be willing to undergo security clearance processing and fingerprinting • At least three years of experience translating and/or editing legal content • Three years of experience providing professional legal language services • Native German language skills required • Extensive legal language service experience required • Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or comparable field required • Ability to use CAT tools • Experience using Trados required for translators or editors • Excellent organizational skills and understanding of language services • Advanced proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English and the target foreign language(s) • Availability during 9–5 EST most days • Availability to take on-demand assignments at least 15 hours per week if needed • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
