📋 Description

• Provide real-time Chʼortiʼ (Chorti) ↔ Standard English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings • Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration and legal contexts • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics standards • Handle scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits

🎯 Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Chʼortiʼ (Chorti) and Standard English • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience • Immigration, legal, community, NGO, or government interpreting experience strongly preferred • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality standards • Strong understanding of cultural nuances and regional variations of Chʼortiʼ (Chorti) • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance • Availability for required onboarding, testing, and training • Any community, court, NGO, or professional interpreting credentials preferred
