• Drive new business growth and account penetration within the parenteral market segment • Sell the company’s contract services • Develop and manage key business relationships with commercial clients • Research, identify, and generate new business through cold calling, inbound website leads, industry membership, and networking events • Develop territory expertise and maintain lead generation using strategic and consultative selling techniques • Manage leads through the complete sales process from prospecting through closing, including follow-up, negotiations, and closing • Own customer relationships, drive continuous improvement, and communicate customer needs internally • Collaborate internally and externally to develop profitable business and sustainable relationships • Maintain accurate customer data in the Salesforce CRM system • Generate activity reports, metrics, sales targets, and forecasts • Manage proposal review, pricing, and submission to clients • Monitor competitive activities and develop relationships with competitors for referred business • Participate in trade shows and conventions as required • Review proposals before final review by the VP of Business Development • Lead negotiations of Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements and Clinical/Commercial Supply Agreements under the direction of the VP of Business Development and legal counsel • Manage key account relationships and ensure appropriate service levels and exchange of planning and technical information • Supervise, coach, and mentor a Business Development team under the direction of the VP of Business Development • Ensure timely completion of team training and compliance with cGMP and company training requirements • Orient new employees and ensure team training remains complete and up to date
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Finance and/or Business required • Minimum of 12 years of previous related experience • 5 to 8 years in project management, account management, sales or marketing with internal or external client-facing responsibilities in the pharmaceutical or contract manufacturing industry • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices • Experience with budgeting and forecasting • Prior sales training preferred
