• Conduct face-to-face sales to new customers • Manage interactions with assigned existing customers to identify cross-selling, upselling, and repeat-sales opportunities • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions • Develop and deliver sales bids, proposals, and presentations • Conduct product demonstrations • Develop medium- to long-term sales plans • Prepare strategies to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers • Develop strategies for profitable business with assigned accounts • Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources • Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results • Manage people-related actions, including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges • Solve operational problems and advise subordinates on schedules and technical issues • Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures affecting sections and subordinate work units • Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements, with possible budget responsibilities • Interact frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives • Participate in and present at internal and external meetings • Follow plant, process, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food procedures • Report potentially unsafe food or SQF conditions and customer complaints • Participate in SQF root-cause analysis and corrective actions as required
• BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation • Experience in field sales and account management • Ability to develop and deliver sales bids, proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations • Ability to develop medium- to long-term sales plans and account strategies • Ability to direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources • People management capabilities, including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees • Ability to manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors • Understanding of business operations and cross-functional integration • Negotiation, organization, influence, interpersonal, business acumen, curiosity, self-starter, and results-oriented capabilities • Ability to travel easily to Canada if based in the Northeast United States
