📋 Description
• Own the pricing and quoting process for a hospitality-focused electrical distribution business • Prepare detailed estimates from BOMs, specifications, HVAC, and related commodities • Build and maintain cost databases and pricing benchmarks by manufacturer, product line, and project type • Partner with manufacturers and vendors to understand pricing structures and negotiate competitive upfront costs • Develop direct purchasing relationships and negotiate volume pricing, program pricing, and preferred-distributor status • Investigate and explain pricing discrepancies between initial quotes and rebids • Flag systemic issues such as margin erosion and inconsistent vendor pricing to sales leadership • Track bid win/loss ratios and identify competitiveness gaps • Partner with sales representatives to return accurate estimates quickly • Maintain organized records of quotes, revisions, and vendor cost data • Procure when purchase orders arrive and coordinate with the Sales team and Store manager
🎯 Requirements
• 5+ years of estimating experience in electrical distribution, electrical contracting, or a related industry • HVAC, gear, or switchgear experience strongly preferred • Proven experience reading BOMs, specs, and construction drawings for commercial/hospitality projects • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with manufacturers and vendors that translate into better pricing or purchasing terms • Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate pricing discrepancies • Experience with distributor/manufacturer pricing platforms such as ABB, Eaton, Schneider, Square D, or similar is a strong plus • Excellent communication skills • Meticulous and deadline-driven • Comfortable handling high-stakes pricing that directly affects job wins
