📋 Description

• Manage assigned work and develop agency relationships • Ensure customer satisfaction at the highest level • Operate in a cross-functional team environment • Work autonomously and make underwriting decisions within assigned approval authority • Transform conceptual thinking into competitive decisions aligned with company philosophy and department guidelines • Recognize and obtain requirements necessary in evaluating risks • Evaluate medical, financial, and non-medical information to determine risk classification • Collaborate with reinsurers to negotiate risk classification for business that may exceed mortality standards • Communicate with field partners and home office personnel for necessary information and problem solving

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in individual life underwriting • Bachelor's degree • Industry related education (ALU, CLU, LOMA, etc.) • Knowledge of underwriting manuals, MIB (Medical Information Bureau) reporting, and various risk assessment vendor tools • An aptitude for risk assessment, collaboration, and customer service • The ability to think divergently • Knowledge of individual life insurance products/processes • Analytical, Negotiation, Written and Oral communication skills • Exceptional decision-making skills and organizational and time management skills
