📋 Description

• Build and lead a strong engineering team through hiring, coaching, feedback, and career development • Own team delivery outcomes, planning, verification, and commitments • Remove dependencies and review bottlenecks while protecting focus time • Engage technically on designs, architecture, engineering quality, and risk • Own production health, including reliability, observability, incident response, security, and root-cause remediation • Partner with Product and stakeholders to translate business priorities into engineering outcomes • Make tradeoffs explicit, surface risk early, and clarify the purpose of work • Establish effective team practices for delegation, context, verification, and review with AI agents • Manage for valuable outcomes rather than AI usage or generated code volume

🎯 Requirements

• Direct management of software engineers, including hiring, performance management, and accountability for delivery and team health • Software engineering background with technical depth in architecture, quality, and engineering tradeoffs • Experience operating software in a production cloud environment; AWS preferred • Knowledge of reliability, observability, incident response, security, and production systems • Experience directing AI agents on real work and understanding where human review matters • Ability to establish AI-agent delegation, context, verification, and review practices • Consistent and reliable high-speed internet • Workspace free from distraction, disruption, or noise • Ability to be present on camera during work-related trainings, meetings, and/or events • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer
