📋 Description

• Assist coders, compliant documentation management staff, and the Internal Revenue Integrity team with complex patient care cases • Analyze documentation and discuss correct code assignment • Review medical records flagged through SMART inpatient and outpatient tools for coding-error patterns and coder or clinical education opportunities • Serve as a technical expert and resource for department managers, staff, physicians, administrative personnel, and external customers • Provide information and clarification regarding accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements • Perform other duties as assigned by management

🎯 Requirements

• University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree • Currently certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) • Strong outpatient coding background at a senior level • Experience coding outpatient/inpatient charts, E/M charging, injection and infusions charging, data management, coder audit, and education • Must maintain credential throughout employment • Minimum two years of people leadership experience • Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology is nice to have • Experience with EPIC, Cerner, Solventum, or PwC SMART is nice to have
