📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and monitor adherence to data governance policies, standards, and procedures • Partner with business leaders, Product, Data & Technology teams, data stewards, and data owners to develop data governance capabilities • Elicit metadata, certify data, research internal systems of record and publicly available data sources, and assess data quality • Identify, define, and maintain data definitions and metadata across business functions and data domains • Review and document translation and transformation requirements for sourced data entering the data warehouse • Conduct data profiling, create and monitor data quality rules, perform root-cause analysis, and remediate data issues • Maintain the data catalog, including lineage, definitions, source and destination systems, transformation rules, stewards, custodians, versioning, and audit trails • Complete report certifications and validate dashboards and reports • Identify process improvements and automate manual data governance processes • Identify PII in data sources and architecture and define masking and data-processing rules • Assess the accuracy of new data sources and data-gathering techniques • Design and develop custom workflows using Groovy scripting • Design and configure metadata models • Use or help implement MDM tools • Develop training materials, use-case documentation, and implementation specifications • Define KPIs and document technical processes for data governance, cataloging performance, and data accuracy • Mentor less experienced data professionals and share templates, reusable artifacts, and business-domain knowledge • Participate in stakeholder reviews, design sessions, working groups, workshops, and training • Provide data, reports, and information to management • Monitor technology-related error trends and develop cross-functional solutions • Resolve high-level data issues and contribute to Information Technology direction • Monitor data catalog ingestion and triage ingestion, lineage, and performance issues • Manage communications, partnerships, and stakeholder relationships with senior leaders, managers, and staff • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required, in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree • Minimum five years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles • Proven experience developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures • Hands-on experience working with data stewards and owners • Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI • Experience querying and analyzing SQL relational databases including Aurora DB, IBM DB2, MemSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, and Snowflake, as well as NoSQL • Strong understanding of data management principles, data quality, data security, and regulatory requirements • Proven experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, including operating model design, content import/export, dashboard and widget customization, views, and automation workflows • Experience with workflow development and/or business process diagramming • Strong understanding of data issues affecting user experience and required business-process and technical remediations • Knowledge of mortgage and privacy laws preferred • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment • Ability to think critically, evaluate facts and data, determine downstream impacts, and assess risks • Commitment to company values • Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely workflow decisions • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards • Work primarily occurs Monday through Friday during the business week
