📋 Description

• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across HFHI headquarters, international area offices, and selected Habitat U.S. and international programs • Assist with planning, execution, and reporting of operational, financial, and compliance audits • Prepare audit planning memos, risk-based audit programs, and test plans • Conduct audit fieldwork, work papers, findings, and recommendations in accordance with internal audit standards • Conduct peer reviews of audit documentation and working papers • Draft audit findings, recommendations, and reports and monitor report quality • Document processes, procedures, and test results • Coordinate monitoring of outstanding audit recommendations • Plan, coordinate, and perform consulting and advisory services • Assist in developing the annual risk-based internal audit plan • Lead assigned audit projects and provide guidance and overall review of deliverables • Support the VP/Director/Manager of Internal Audit and other internal audit activities, including SOAR, audit committee packages, and risk assessment processes • Travel 40-60% domestically and/or internationally

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field • 3-5 years of professional experience with external and internal audits and forensic accounting investigations, preferably with a public accounting firm • Experience with international travel and/or cross-cultural communications • Expert level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Good understanding of the COSO - International Control Integrated Framework • Excellent English, verbal and written, communication skills • Strong critical thinking and project management skills • Preferred: 3 years of domestic and international experience in internal or external audit management • Preferred: Experience auditing construction activities and Micro-Finance operations • Preferred: Proficiency with auditing software such as Galvanize HighBond or others • Preferred: Experience using data analytics tools to create queries and trend analysis reports • Preferred: Experience in non-profit Internal Audits, particularly executing audits of controls and transactions related to government and corporate grant requirements • Preferred: Spanish, verbal and written, communication skills would be beneficial • Must be eligible to work in the United States; Habitat for Humanity International is an E-Verify employer
